Computer Classes
Scott has taken more than 25 years of experience helping people learn about computers and put them in to a series of curricula aimed at Continuing Adult Education, Home School Cooperatives & Associations, and Private & Public schools that may not be able to afford their own computer program. His patient, easy-going style of presentation and current & relevant information make learning fun. Here are just some of the subjects he can share:
Effectively Using Computer Software
Software today has become more powerful than it used to be, but that can mean it may also be a bit daunting to learn. This series will take you through a custom combination of the Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Presenter, and/or Access) and show you step-by-step what you need to know to get the job done.
Understanding Computer Hardware
This course will take you through the inner workings of computers and explain how all the pieces fit together. You'll spend time setting up & taking down computer systems, replacing components, adding new hardware to existing systems.
Computer Maintenance & Repair
What can you do if you monitor goes blank? If the power light on your system doesn't light up? If your hard drive stops functioning? These are some of the tough questions we'll deal with in this class. Not for the faint of heart, you'll get your hands dirty and learn how to identify & replace faulty components, back up hard drives, set system BIOS defaults, and more!
Home Networking Made Easy
Do you have more than one computer in your home? Does each one have its own printer? Can only one person use the internet at a time? This course is for you. We'll cover what you need to set up your own network that will allow you to share internet, printer, & files. We'll talk about the differences, advantages & disadvantages of wireless & wired network connections and how to set each up. Learn how easy it is to setup & maintain your own home network.
Using The Internet
Is the internet just one big mysterious cloud to you? We can take the mystery out of the internet and teach you what you need to know to use it effectively and keep your family safe at the same time. We'll show you where to stop on "The Information Highway" to find what you're looking for and still avoid the potholes. News, Weather, Information, Shopping Discounts,
